Citizenship
The Croatian Citizenship Act (Official Gazette 53/91, 70/91, 28/92, 113/93-Decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia, 4/94, 130/11, 110/15 and 102/19) regulates Croatian citizenship, the requirements for its acquisition and its termination.
The authority competent for interpreting the provisions of the Croatian Citizenship Act is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia.
Applications for registering children as Croatian citizens, for the acquisition, determination of and release from Croatian citizenship, that can, pursuant to the Act, also be submitted abroad, are submitted through a diplomatic mission or a consular office of the Republic of Croatia located abroad.

Application forms for the acquisition, determination and termination of Croatian citizenship are available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia. The application will be accepted if the applicant submits the documents prescribed by law.
A consular fee is charged in accordance with the Administrative Fees Act – payment in cash is not accepted.
